Atheists are Satanic, Islamic, and Evil

(Note: Sorry I've been away for awhile. I had some big changes in my life that resulted in "for fun" writing taking a back seat. Here's hoping I'm back and ready to go full speed ahead!)

Hopefully my readers immediately see the paradox of the first two adjectives in this blog entry's title. However, it seems that a not insignificant segment of America would read that headline and accept it outright as obvious. To a powerful, vocal percentage of U.S. citizens, atheists worship Satan, likely pal around with Islamic people (who they automatically label as sketchy malcontents), and are just evil in general (or, at the very least, amoral).

For those who may not be on board quite yet, understand that an atheist doesn't believe in God, and that extends to the books and religious tenets that this non-existent God didn't write. So, to say that an atheist is satanic is idiotic at best. Sorry, but no, we don't worship something we don't think exists.

I experienced this one first hand. It was a few years back when a small group of friends and I were discussing something with no religious connections at all. I don't remember the exact conversation topic, but it was something entirely mundane. At one point, a devout Christian friend of mine in the group made an offhand remark about me being a satanist, so he understood why I would hold whatever opinion I had expressed. Mind you, he wasn't cracking a joke -- he said it matter of factly, and he wasn't looking for a laugh, nor was he looking to offend. It just sort of slipped out as a natural association he had between atheists and satanists. I was quick to correct him, and we moved on, but that was the first time I had experienced such a weird mislabeling, and I didn't fully understand the implications.

What Atheist Means (Credit: Gage Skidmore)
Of course, that's just an anecdote, but it's how many truly devout Christians irrationally see atheists. However, I can see why that might happen. "Satanic" has been semi-generalized simply to mean "lacking Christian morals" for many people, so saying an atheist is a satanist doesn't so much mean we worship Satan as we share immoral traits comparable to people who would worship Satan.

But to say that we're Islamic is beyond ridiculous. I'm not just pulling this one out of my ass, and it's not a personal anecdote. This Sunday, GOP doomsayer Newt Gingrich paradoxically declared that becoming "a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists" could be America's future. Erm ... sorry Newt, but that's not just unlikely, it's actually fundamentally impossible. We're either a secular atheist (non-theist) country or we're an Islamic (theist) country. You can't be a secular atheist country dominated by Islamists -- that'd be an Islamic country, buddy.

His blunder likely wasn't a blunder at all. He probably knows exactly how fundamentally flawed his statement was, but he also knows that for the people whom he's trying bring to arms, there's nothing at all wrong with what he said. Islam = evil, and atheism = evil. Therefore, Islam = atheism. Plus, if you believe in the wrong version of God, it's as good as not believing it God at all.

Captain Pollution, Captain Planet's evil
counterpart. Nope, not making this up.
Frankly, it was smart of Newt to brand Islamic people as atheists. While many (too many) in America don't trust Islamic people, it is in fact atheists who are the least-trusted group in America. I believe Newt is trying to form some sort of Captain Planet-style embodiment of all that is evil, and it's a great way to nab the GOP nomination for 2012.

All of this presupposes that atheists are obviously evil or amoral (we do whatever we want, regardless of the moral implications). This is easily disprovable by any of innumerable means, but here are just a select few:
So, sorry Newt, but atheists aren't evil, we aren't in danger of becoming a secular atheist country that worships Allah, and Satan's just my homeboy -- I don't actively worship him.

  1. certainly from a secular humanist perspective islam is total evil, even a brief review of islams theology & history easily verifies this negative assertion

see the links in the pdf version below for more accurate info to counter islamic dissimulation and political correctness

as for whether non-atheists think that atheists are evil, 1 - duh, 2 - who cares ?
    ==========

islam is a horrible ideology for human rights

    5 key things about islam

    1. mythical beliefs - all religions have these (faith) because its part of being a religion: having beliefs without proof until after the believer dies. the problem is people will believe almost anything.

    2. totalitarianism - islam has no seperation of church and state: sharia law governs all. there is no free will in islam: only submission to the will of allah as conveniently determined by the imams who spew vapors to feather their own nests. there are no moderate muslims: they all support sharia law.

    3. violence - islam leads the pack of all religions in violent tenets for their ideology & history: having eternal canonical imperatives for supremacy at all costs and calling for violence & intimidation as basic tools to achieve these goals.

    4. dishonesty - only islam has dishonesty as a fundamental tenet: this stems from allah speaking to mohamhead & abrogation in the koran which is used to explain how mo's peaceful early life was superseded by his warlord role later.

    5. misogyny - present day islam is still rooted in 8th century social ethics: treating females as property of men good only for children, severely limiting their activities, dressing them in shower curtains and worse.

    conclusions ??

there really are NO redeeming qualities for this muddled pile of propaganda.

islam is just another fascist totalitarian ideology used by power hungry fanatics on yet another quest for worldwide domination and includes all the usual human rights abuses & suppression of freedoms.

  2. Even thought I am a Christian, I will defend Islam. Islam is NOT a horrible religion. It is only viewed as horrible to people because there are small and minor, but with a lot of power, groups of people incorrectly displaying Islam. They are using it to justify their twisted goals. The same thing with the Crusades. The Roman Catholics used the Bible as an excuse to go on a world dominating rampage. This does not mean that everyone in the religion is bad. That would be looking the sun and saying that it is very smooth, without knowing the other parts of it.
